Dear Dina,

Yes, dear Veraiconica, solitude is healing, great and necessary.
I must say, I prefer the be together with someone special, enjoying the solitude and walking on the vast beaches in Norfolk… 🙂

Liebe Dina,
für dich schreibe ich ein kleines Gedicht. 🙂
Danke, Tanja.
It’s not quite fair to the first comments, but I have to make it clear, I just added the the following words now:
I miss my beloved ♥ one and our bookfayries Siri and Selma…
🙂
Danke, liebe Marion♥,
dein Kommentar tut gerade sehr gut! 🙂
Zu deiner Frage; es dauert noch eine Ewigkeit! Oder recht bald, halt je wie man es sieht;
Solitude *is* just fine. Especially following a period of intense socializing.
That’s what night looks like at 2am now? Our sunsets now come at 8:30pm, and I am already sad to see the night come so soon. What are your winter days like?
No, I’m sorry, the nights are dark now. The lovely summer, when the milky light stays the whole night is so short, far too short! June and July are both very special, it never gets totally dark. I love being on the island during the summer. Thank you very much for your kind comment, Heather. Nice to read from you. 🙂
Gorgeous shot, Dina and interesting quote. I’m not sure I completely agree … I love solitude being a total introvert. I’m sure you miss them. They are so special people. F. Xx
You’re right, the 3 of them, they’re all very special indeed.;-) Actually, I really like being on my own, doing my own things now and then and have some great quality time when we’re together. And some times, like now, it feels good to be a loving person missing the beloved ones.
I’m sure you had a fantastic time on Nantucket Island, it looks like a gem, do you stay there often? I hope you got home safely. Enjoy the new week, Francesca.
Lots of love to you all! ♥

Mein lieber Schatz,

It’s not so much the solitude as the peace and quiet that feeds our souls. If one is sharing it with the right person then one doesn’t need solitude, only a soulmate! Lovely shot Dina
Tina, your l♥vely words go right to my heart and under my skin. Thank you so much for your wise insight.♥ I love the way you describe it, this is like a generous gift, Tina, thanks again!
Sharing the right the moments with the right person makes it so precious. Even the little things, like being being at home in a night like this. Later, looking back, we realize they, the little things, were the big things. Even more so with a soulmate.
Have great new week, Tina. Big hug!
If you have a certain ‘someone special’, solitude is not necessarily an enjoyable state. But for me, who is often (make that ‘almost always’) alone, it is just perfect. I am rarely lonely. I have a girlfriend who feels the same. I think everyone needs some time alone to re-charge, but as you said, you prefer your loved one’s company.
I read somewhere in one of my books that you can’t experience Happiness unless you have someone to share it with, but I know by experience that this is untrue.
I am usually Happy and At Home wherever I find myself.
I agree with you. I know lots of people who’ll confirm your words, Victoria. There are good reasons for doing things on your own. I recently read a post “10 reasons why traveling alone is better for you”. A real eyeopener. Thank you so much for this lovely comment, Victoria. It’s much, much appreciated. Big hug to you!♥

How peaceful and tranquil this place looks, I could look at this for hours. I can almost “hear” the silence. Personally I prefer silence to solitude, although they often come together.
Have a nice week Dina🍀
Thank you, B!
Siri and Selma just arrived so that makes me feel a lot better 🙂 and now we’re much looking forward to our next travel in 2 weeks. I love making plans together with them. Our Master is in for a little surprise…
Have a great week.
Love Dina
Lucky you! Whereabout are you going? Make sure you take lots of memory cards with you, Joan.
Thanks for visiting and commenting. Wishing you a truly great time in Norway ♥ – Happy Travelling!
Thanks Dina, will be between Skien and Porsgrunn, visiting my daughter and 3 grandchildren (can’t wait)butwe intend driving further south as far as Kristiansand, which I hear is lovely.
I’m sure you’re going to have a grand time. Times passes by so quickly and the little ones grow up so fast, don’t they? Kristiansand ist beautiful, I hope the weather plays along with you.:-)
Such a beautiful shot – conveys serenity, stillness. Yet there it is fuelling a 2am yearning of the heart. Yet does it make it all the more sweeter for reuniting with your beloved?
I think solitude, of the kind in your picture, offers that peace which comes from being beyond the damands of others. From that we have opportunity to appreciate the world around us and enjoy the great gift of being alive to see it.
Occasionally, we get to share it with one who seeks only our company and the joy of a shared experience but demands nothing.
I am about to take off for a week on the Scilly Isles and am looking forward to the solitude……as long as it doesn’t rain….then my solitude is likely to turn into cabin fever!!!
Hi Carol, I just read about the Scilly Isles in of the biggest german newspapers the other day.. aaaah…so gorgoeus! It’s very high up on my bucket list now. 🙂
Have a great time! ♥
Hi Dina!
Hab’ eine gute Zeit!
Liebe Grüße
Hanne – DIna
Thank you for this! Mahalo! Tusen Talk! My best summers have been in Telemark. It is a home to me since a young age no matter where I am in the world. The long mountain summer days and evenings there for me never do end…eternal beauty.
Thank you, David. I don’t know Telemark that well, I’m afraid, but I hope to go there again one fine day and see a lot more of thsi beautiful part of my country.
All the best to you. Namaste.
Aloha Dina! Many Thanks! Mahalo! Tusen Takk! Summers in Telemark are some of my best memories and experiences. I am home there no matter where I am living in the world. Long summer days and evenings in those mountains and lakes are eternally beautiful..Namaste.
I think solitude — good solitude when you’re ready to be alone — is the balm that soothes everything and puts everything back where it’s supposed to be in us, and gives us the space to check in and see how were doing. I love it. I makes me peaceful.
Great that you like Dina’s pictures and that you like the Norsk Nature (what a fine alliteration!) as well.
Puh, we are late, aren’t we? Sorry!
Have a happy Sunday
The Fab Four of Cley 🙂
In today’s world, solitude– free of any chatter external or internal – is a treasure. One has to be deliberate, though, in finding and protecting it. I miss the North, too, Dina. I miss theNorway that is slow, gentle and as simple as water against stone. Wonderful post.
I love the image, Dina – it takes me back to memories of Arctic Norwaylat last summer. Such amazing light. I like the quote too, which seems to have many meanings the more that you think about it.
Beautyful soft colors 🙂

How peaceful and tranquil this place looks, I could look at this for hours. I can almost “hear” the silence. Personally I prefer silence to solitude, although they often come together.
Have a nice week Dina🍀

Such a beautiful shot – conveys serenity, stillness. Yet there it is fuelling a 2am yearning of the heart. Yet does it make it all the more sweeter for reuniting with your beloved?

I think solitude, of the kind in your picture, offers that peace which comes from being beyond the damands of others. From that we have opportunity to appreciate the world around us and enjoy the great gift of being alive to see it.
Occasionally, we get to share it with one who seeks only our company and the joy of a shared experience but demands nothing.
Occasionaly, we get to be that person.
… Your pictures are evocative. Roll on.

Hi Dina!

Hab’ eine gute Zeit!
Liebe Grüße

Enjoying solitude is knowing you have someone to go back to. When that person has gone it can become loneliness.

I think solitude — good solitude when you’re ready to be alone — is the balm that soothes everything and puts everything back where it’s supposed to be in us, and gives us the space to check in and see how were doing. I love it. I makes me peaceful.

In today’s world, solitude– free of any chatter external or internal – is a treasure. One has to be deliberate, though, in finding and protecting it. I miss the North, too, Dina. I miss theNorway that is slow, gentle and as simple as water against stone. Wonderful post.
